Use this panel to adjust text shape properties.
Font Name
This is the Windows name of the font used for drawing the text. The available fonts are automatically listed in the combobox. You can see the resulting fonts by setting the focus to the combobox, then browsing through them with up and down arrow and looking at your shape.
Font Color
The color of the font. Use the dropdown to select a different one.
Font Height in [mm] or [pts]
Font height is given in both mm and in the conventional pts unit. They are related 1:1, because 1 mm = 25.4 inch and 1 pt is 1/72 inch. You can set whichever is convenient. By dragging the lower edge of the text shape you can also resize the font, and the font height will be adjusted.
DtpDocuments does not limit the fonts to whole point numbers.
Font styles Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikeout
Check any of the boxes to choose one or a combination of these font styles.
[x] Autosize
If set (default), the font's shape rectangle will be automatically resized whenever you type a new text. It will always snugly fit around the line of text. If not set, the shape rectangle will remain unchanged and some text may get clipped.
Alignment
You can only use alignment if AutoSize is not checked. Changing alignment will cause the text to be aligned with the left edge of the shape's box (LeftJustify), the right of edge the shape's box (RigthJustify) or it will be centered horizontally (Center).
Text
This edit box reads the text that the shape is displaying. You can also edit the text here and these changes will be reflected in the shape *after* you press TAB or set the focus to another control.
Note: you can edit the text of a shape directly in the document, by clicking F2 while the shape is selected, or by double-clicking the shape. The shape will show a blue blinking caret and selected text will be displayed as a gray hatched area.
